ASV with AI Powered Collision Avoidance and Route Planning System

Using autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) or self-driving boats for marine monitoring is safer and much more cost-effective than the current crewed vessel method. Smaller than crewed vessels, ASVs can operate safely in hazardous locations, and at night, and can cover much larger areas, mitigating risks around crew fatigue.

The idea is to simulate ASV with autonomous navigation and collision avoidance in any Simulation Software by incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI). The simulated boat should be able to navigate by avoiding collisions with obstacles. ASV will get data from on-board simulated sensors like GPS receiver, LiDAR, Communication Device, Gyro etc.

Objectives

  1. Simulation of ASV with autonomous navigation and collision avoidance in any Simulation Software
  2. Reinforcement Learning based trained algorithm for the ASV
